Journey Through Italy
Today was started in the Charles De Gaulle airport and ended in the cozy town of Anghiari, but what happened in between was a day full of exploration and new companions.
The flight from Atlanta to Paris was long and uneventful, but that was immediately forgotten about when hit with the spaghetti maze that is the Charles De Gaulle airport. We had an hour and a half lay over, and every minute was used running to our next flight. Even though we had already been through security in Atlanta l, we had to go through it again. Couple this with the difficult navigation of what might as well be a burger king jungle gym, and you could imagine how out of breath we were.
The flight to Florence, however, was rather calm with nothing special to note. It was once we got off the train to Arezzo where things picked up again. We met up with a friend of Mrs Carter's, and his sister, who took us all around Arezzo. We walked the antique market all the way up to the top of the hill where the fortress stands. They gave as a special one day tour of a, frankly, beautiful and unique city. He even offered to drive us to our destination, about 30 mins outside of the city. I cannot state my gratitude enough for how open and inviting Luigi and Pinuccia were. I will never forget there amazing hospitality! He even gifted us a pin, representing the christian workers, and a card of the patron saint of Arezzo.
